Synopsis

Sasaki is a tired, forty-five-year-old salaryman navigating the grueling and thankless world of corporate Japan. With nothing but endless overtime to look forward to, his daily salvation comes from two simple pleasures: smoking breaks and the incredibly sweet, infectious smile of Yamada, a cheerful cashier at his local supermarket.

One evening, after an exceptionally brutal day at the office, Sasaki finds Yamada's register empty. Crestfallen, he heads to the back alley for a solitary smoke, only to be approached by Tayama—a cool, edgy, and heavily pierced woman who invites him to share a cigarette. Though initially intimidated by her punk-rock style and teasing banter, Sasaki quickly finds solace in this mysterious new smoking buddy.
